Giorgio Prodi (August 12, 1928, Scandiano, Italy – December 4, 1987) was an Italian medical scientist, oncologist and semiotician. He studied medicine and chemistry in the University of Bologna. From 1958, he taught general pathology and experimental oncology. From 1973, he was the Director of the Institute of Cancerology.〔Cimatti, Felice 2000. The circular semiosis of Giorgio Prodi.
